This moisturizer contains phospholipids which are water-binding agents found naturally in the skin that restore and maintain your skin’s natural moisture balance. It is nongreasy, noncomedogenic, absorbs quickly, and is fragrance-free.
2nd Choice: Cetaphil Moisturizing Lotion, Fragrance Free
Also non-comedogenic and fragrance-free, this lotion contains extra-strength emollients and humectants, clinically proven to bind water to the skin and prevent moisture loss. This product moisturizes well and is inexpensive but the feel is a little thick, which some people don’t like.
Best Moisturizer for Oily Skin & Acne
This product consistently receives great consumer reviews. It is lightweight, oil-free, and contains soothing ingredients and antioxidants. It’s constantly praised for providing just the right amount of moisture for oily skin without clogging pores. It also comes in a lotion formula, but that is meant more for dryer skin types.
Personally, this is my favorite moisturizer that I use daily. I only made it 2nd Choice because it isn’t as widely reviewed as Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel. It’s refreshing, lightweight, hydrating, fast absorbing, and has never made me breakout.
Only thing I would add – while my skin is oily, it also gets dehydrated very easily. Sometimes I need a little more moisture than the gel can provide, especially in winter. On those occasions I simply mix in a tiny drop of Bioelements Moisture x10 (a moisture-boosting serum for dehydrated skin) and voila, ultimate hydration with no pesky zits!
These top 4 picks for the best moisturizer for oily skin and acne are based off of consumer reviews, dermatologist research, and personal experience.
